The Best 5 Restaurants In Barcelona!

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

So, you’ve made the right decision to travel to Barcelona as it’s a must in all the best itineraries for Spain that we can think of and definitely in the top ten cities to visit if you plan a European trip!

People around you will try to confuse you. They will tell you to go visit Guell Park, or check out the Sagrada Familia, or even spend an evening in Las Ramblas. And they are probably right, but nothing will happen if you open Google Street View and experience those places online. But the recommended restaurants in this post, you will not be able to experience over the Internet, and more – you’ll want to experience them with your hands, eyes and palate.

Koy Shunka

Let’s start with a surprise. Yes, a Japanese restaurant . In Barcelona. We are talking about one of the best Japanese meals that we had in our lives. New York, Sao Paulo, Tokyo – Koy Shunka has positioned itself as one of the most outstanding Japanese experiences outside of Japan. We strongly recommend that you get there at noon for an unforgettable light lunch.
On a side street that is almost hidden, you will find a restaurant that respects itself and its diners through an exceptional service and fresh ingredients of the highest quality. Generally speaking – this is the best sushi in town, but try to arrive with an open mind and let their masters decide what you are going to eat. Believe us – it is for the best. We will never forget the taste of their sashimi, that’s for sure!

Cinc Sentits

Cinc Sentits is the Catalan translation for “Five Senses,” and although it may sound corny for the cynics among us, it is an experience that will make you regret that you don’t have an extra sense or two. Right now, our sixth sense is trying to convince you that you can’t miss a visit to this restaurant when you are in Barcelona. This  is not a cheap restaurant. But yes, oh yes – this is one of the best culinary experiences we have experienced in recent years.
This restaurant is rated #1 in Barcelona at Zagat, and if that does not convince you to save some money for the trip, we do not know what will. Cinc Sentits offers a new take on Catalan food, combined with stunning presentation. Eating here is like getting a private lesson in football from Lionel Messi. It’s as simple as that.

La Paradeta

If you ask us what is the biggest advantage in the city of Barcelona, besides the fact that it is home for the world’s best football team, our answer will be really decisive – the sea. And if we already mentioned the sea, then we have to mention the most popular seafood place in Barcelona. And when we write seafood we mean the freshest, most delicious and sometimes weirdest seafood that you can find.
La Paradeta, meaning “The Stand” in Catalan, represents an experience that’s a little different and very enjoyable – you arrive at one of the branches (we prefer the one near the pier), and after you recover from the astonishment that is caused by the display window that is loaded with seafood (and when we write loaded we mean L-O-A-D-E-D), you choose your favorite ones and a preparation method and wait, with a delicious sangria, until your order is ready. Now get ready to get a little dirty and eat the freshest seafood you can find on this side of the planet!

Boca Grande

If you are here to celebrate – Boca Grande is the right place! A stunningly beautiful restaurant, with a great cocktail bar that specializes in various types of Gene and one of the best service experiences in town. Oh, and the food – exceptional! Most of the dishes are based on products from the sea, but this is a restaurant that makes things a little different and a lot more palatable.
Arrive here at around ten o’clock, because this is the time when the Spaniards go out to eat, and treat yourself.
We prefer to go for 3-4 small meals and one big meal. This way we have room for a lot of alcohol and for the excellent desserts that they serve. By the way, ask to eat the desserts at the bar upstairs. And don’t miss the basement toilet.  Trust us – it’s amazing!

Ciudad Condal

Last, but not least – We defined the Ciudad Condal as “fancy tapas.” Super interesting tapas, which are very tasty and super trendy. We don’t want to recommend what to eat, because like with tapas – you need to taste everything! And when we write everything we mean the excellent razor clams, the mushrooms, the anchovies and tomatoes, and the Catalan tortilla/frittata. If you want to make it easy for you to not miss anything, make every effort to sit at the bar. And be nice to the bartenders! It will result in an unforgettable evening.
